Pet Adoption

Some years back our Varvara have suddenly stopped to obey. You submit a command, and she does not carry it out. And only after you will retell it loudly, she submits to a command. We were very anxious with such situation. We needed some weeks to understand, in what a problem. The Varvara has not stopped to obey. She has stopped to hear. She has injured her auricle in fight with other dog. Inflammatory process has begun and has considerably lowered her hearing. Illness has got chronic form already when we have found out a problem. The medicines traditionally used for treatment of ears, did not give a positive effect. One of our friends, owners of dogs too, has advised us to try a medicine which treats mastitis. The result was very good. There has come improvement and recovery very quickly. We have learned the Varvara to a sign language at the same time. And now, when our ten years Varvara sensory acuity has sharply decreased because of age, we can communicate with it on a sign language. We have avoided many problems. And we teach other our dogs to understand gestures. Sometimes it can be very useful.

Who said that only hunting breeds of dogs are able to hunt? Who decides that dog can or can’t go hunt? Who decided that boxers are not hunters? Our dogs proved that every real boxer is hunter!!! Somebody is professional, somebody – amateur. My boxer Varvara is real professional. She can hunt on ducks, hares, and elk. She’s ten years old now and last year she has left on pension. But she can’t forget her youth hobby. As soon as her owners are going for hunting, she starts to worry. All her body strains. She’s fool of strength and energy, she’s very active. She observes all events in the house with experienced view. Attentively she observes how products are being collected. Clothes are put into backpacks. As soon as the weapon is gotten from the safe, she is already sitting at an entrance door. She shows availability for hunting service. And how many sadness is in her eyes when with owners leave her at home. And only good walk and any entertainment can console Varvara. And Kira, the Varvaras daughter, now is hunter-amateur. She likes trophies. Especially tasty trophies. She likes to extract them from a backpack of owners. And she likes to divide trophies on her own way. She applies itself not for all pieces. She let hunters to take some pieces. We think that she will be very good hunter. Many of our boxers were good hunters. They were universal hunting dogs: they could hunt on deer and birds. In the same time they remain dogs – partners in the home. Experience of hunting does not make them aggressive. They understand that it is necessary to work only on hunting. On picnic they are “hunting on sausages”. They do not go far from camp. Ball is the best animal for them on picnic. It is possible to hunt on him flight. It is possible to do it together with people. And it is possible to rescue a ball from people. If they are kicking it by legs …

Do your pets help you with your home duties? Do they wash floors, decorate a Christmas pie, assort purchases, vacuum carpets? And do they wash utensils, replace room flowers, feed small children? My dogs don’t leave me alone with my duties. What can be better than cleaning of carpets together with Den? As the real defender it never loses vigilance. He is always ready to active doings. Especially if something occurs in our home. For example big cleaning of a house is occurs. How can he leave a room when some monster growls on me? And it’s not important that monster is leaving with us. Monsters name is vacuum cleaner. It’s necessary to do something with it. It is necessary to frighten the monster. It is possible to bark at him loudly. But it is easier to bite it at first. Probably it’s better to bite its throat. And Den will do everything that he has decided. And one problem appears in front of us. We have two ways of decision of this problem. First: to repair vacuum cleaner frequently. Second: to walk with Den during the cleaning. Kira likes to help me to clean floors. It’s very interesting t do it with her. You never know: who will be the owner of a mop. And what will be broken during the deciding of this question? And what new problems will appear? And when Kira will be tired you will be able to continue cleaning. More correctly: it is not possibility, it is necessity already. When you come home from the shop, four dogs faces will appear in your bags. And it is not surprising, that handles of bags will be broken and you will compete with dogs in collecting cookies, sausage, cheese and other delicacies. Every year, at Christmas I recollect my boxer Masha. She isn’t alive now. But I remember a lot of interesting occasions with her. Once Masha was helping me to decorate a Christmas pie. It was the Christmas Eve. I was decorating a pie with a cream in the kitchen. I covered with a cream a side of a pie. The plate was situated at a corner of a table. I turned it around and covered a pie with a cream. Masha was standing at the opposite side. Some minutes we were working hardly. Then I began to be interest, why I can not finish my work. Everything was explained very simply. Until I was covering the pie with a cream from one side she was licking cream from another. She is not with us already for a long time yet, but warm memories have remained…

It is speaking: “the Dog should be performing. And the earlier it will pass a rate of training, the better” And I say: “the Dog should be brought well up. And only after that it can go on a training platform!” I take out on a training platform a dog not earlier than two years. I understand, this is disputable opinion. I shall state the point of view on this question. We shall start with specification. Dogs are very different. There are decorative dogs. For them training is not actual. There are service dogs. They are hard workers. They due precisely to know, that from them it is required. And from them improvisation is not waited. From them we wait for precise execution of the work. From them we wait for stability and predictability. For them training is more important than education. But there is a plenty of dogs of a special class – partners. About them I also want to talk. From the dogs - partners we wait for special dialogue – intelligent. I think, we would not like to see near to ourselves a dog-biorobot. Personally I want, that the dog would know that it cannot to do. Very precisely know it. But that it would think, that it should do. What she skillfully not only to work, but also to think. If since the birth to stimulate cerebration of the puppy, it is possible to achieve amazing results. For such stimulation I constantly put the puppy in unexpected situations for it. And encourage its correct behavior. I pay attention I do not prompt to the puppy the decision of a problem. And encourage correct decision already accepted by the puppy. For this purpose I very much frequently drive the kid in unknown to it places and I allow investigating all there. I leave in private with any difficult toys. For example, clockwork machines, the musical toys, opening boxes where the delicacy is hidden. It is a lot of with it I talk. I explain him any simple things. Result? Three weeks ago to my house there has come a trouble. My four-year-old boxer Den has injured a backbone. Displacement of disks. Veterinary doctors could not help. Anybody the stranger could not put a disk on a place. Very unsuccessful trauma. My husband could explain Den what that should make physical exercise for the decision of this problem. Has shown this exercise to a dog. And Den has understood. Not paying attention on a pain (and who faced a problem of a backbone, that knows what thus a strong pain) it carried out it exercises. And for ten days it has put a backbone on a place. It has taken place at the presence of me and the husband. Therefore I precisely know – the backbone began on a place at the moment of performance of exercise, instead of is casual. Now it has almost returned to a normal condition. Passes fast step the usual distance. Before it tried to not depart from a house. It plays with the familiar dogs. It is asked in country trips. With a sick backbone it at all did not approach to the car. It just slightly limps on back legs. But it quickly passes. Exercise which has rescued it, very much not idle time in execution. Especially for a dog. But it has understood and correctly carried out. Den was born in our house. We are exact as talked to its parents. And they too realized all. We practically do not use commands. Dogs superb understand our speech. With each new generation of our dogs to us all is easier to find with them common language. I think, it is handed down. Because our puppies in other houses too very sharp. Let to give advice – do not stint words for your dog. Even if will meet the surprised sights of associates. In fact associates also do not guess, as your pet is clever.

It is speaking, the owner is similar to his pets. It is really so. And rare exceptions only confirm this rule. Years of a joint life make us very similar. We in fact live one life. We try to find such speed of a life which would arrange both the owner, and the pet. We get similar habits. If your dog is sociable, it will necessarily acquaint you with owners of other dogs. You will not stand silently while your pets are playing. If you are very unsociable, the dog too has to spend the most part of time in loneliness. You simply will not allow it to approach to other dogs (and it is a pity ….) . The most amazing, as illnesses of people and their pupils are the same. I do not know why it so, but it is really so. If any serious illness is found out in an animal, you can be sure of that, that his owner with this illness is already familiar for a long time. It concerns both cats, and dogs. I shall tell nothing about rodents and reptiles. I do not know. They have not lived with me. But our cats and dogs always as though “take away” on themselves a part of illness of the owner. It is Speaking, that they have sixth feeling. That they see invisible to us. And for them illness as is real, as the neighbor which we have met in the morning. And, that seeing illness, they protect us. Sometimes even by cost of life. I cannot find to this a logic explanation. But my sad experience speaks, that it is the truth. Moreover, if attentively to observe a life of the house it is possible to notice, that the first in the house begin to ill … flowers. I for a long time I have taken to myself a rule: “If my indoor plant dies, it is necessary to observe more attentively of dogs and yours health”. A sad theme. It would not be desirable to speak about it much.

That was the first: an egg or a hen? Who main in the home: you or a dog? Theoretically – you. In practice – a dog. Let’s think together. Who whom wake up in the mornings? I am awoken by my dogs. The beginning of my day is determined by dogs. And on dogs depends when I return home after walk. When my business morning will begin. And whether it will begin at all. Because if one of my dogs will decide to be ill, I at all shall not recollect affairs. My life will be entered by veterinaries, medicines and the schedule of medical procedures. My holiday too will be dated for an expected birth of puppies, more often. My circle of friends too considerably is determined by dogs. More truly, the most part of this circle cynologists make. And if somebody from this circle has problems with a dog all his friends will be strongly concerned with it. My days off depend on the schedule of cynologic exhibitions. And from a place of carrying out of these exhibitions. And the endings of my day determine dogs. And relations between members of our family in our home are constructed considering the view of dogs. The family shares not by a principle: parents and children. And by a principle – people and dogs. That is, the basis of our relations is determined too by dogs.

Letting in your life a dog, you should be ready to that your life already never will be former. All will exchange. Your daily routine. I remember a case which was having place with my younger son. He was twelve years old. In the evening he was working on a computer. When I have asked him to walk with our dogs, he was very disappointed. Discontentedly grumbling, he has put shoes on, and all as grumbling, has left for a door. Seconds through fifteen he has returned loudly being dared: « Mum, I have forgotten a dog! … » It happens. That with us constantly beside a dog for us as is habitual, as well as that that with us is constant our left hand. Leaving from a house, we do not check, whether we have taken the right and left hand. With the advent of a dog your scale of values considerably to extend. One cynologist, the businessman, has told, that after in his life the dog has appeared, he began to notice behind himself a strange things. Even at a meeting with partners on business if this meeting passed on the nature, he looked out for sticks with which could play his dog. I remember one occasion that happened long time ago. Events occured in cynologists club. Among dog lovers very much interested conversation on a theme of breeding cultivation was fastened. Began to discuss the best dogs, quality of the given birth puppies. Someone with someone has not agreed and peace conversation was threatened to pass in fierce dispute. The most counterbalanced from present cynologists has risen with words: “Enough, for today. I’ll go home. It is time to feed children.” She was asked: “And from whom your children?” She answered: “From the husband, friends, from the husband!”
When dogs become a part of your life, it is very good. When they become the most part it’s too well. It is good, if it to you does not prevent to see the world of people behind the world of dogs. And sometimes so it would not be desirable to come back in the real world. Twenty years ago there was no Internet. There was no virtual world. The rigid world of people frightening with a reality was.. And, frequently, it would be desirable to think up simply a beautiful fairy tale even about the ideal world of dogs. In fact it so is easy – for explaining behavior of our pets from our point of view. But the world of dogs, it not the world of people. These worlds are parallel. And only recognizing for dogs their right to be oneself, we can pull together as much as possible our worlds and our lives. Only taking into account the true desires and needs of dogs we can make happy and intelligent our joint stay on a planet the Earth. It is not necessary to demand from dogs more, than they can, but also it is impossible to allow for them to be lazy minded. What for to explain our dogs, that in books write about the nature, about weather and about tasty things. And to wait after that from them for the careful attitude to the book.. It is enough to learn it simply not to spoil the book. And it is better, at once to learn carefully to concern to all things. It is not necessary to read to dogs of lecture about bases of hygiene, rules of a good form, about compatibility products in our meal. Better simply to forbid to select in the street anyone (even the most delicious to them a sight) slices. Here is not present about what to argue. Let they think how they want. For us in fact it is more important, that they do.

Often it is possible to hear: � Live as a cat with a dog! � And how it � to lead cat-and-dog life? How they get on, these parallel worlds? All my experience speaks, that in a daily life in one house between cats, dogs, parrots there are less problems, than between people. Simply at our favourites different images of a life. And consequently they do not compete with each other. But they with interest observe each other and even teach each other to something. Some years my flight dogs were headed by a cat. It had beautiful name - Apanica Susi. And she was beautiful. A cat with very bright painting, blue with red. And she was bright person too. She knew, that she cannot eat that is on a table. Dogs knew, that to them is strictly forbidden even to look on a table regardless of the fact that on him lays. But who will forbid to a cat to reset a food on a floor? She in fact at all has not bitten. She even on a floor has not jumped off. All as sits on a table. And it is not forbidden to dogs to eat that has fallen to a floor. They did not climb on a table. They do all correctly. And there is no whom to punish, and to be angry no on whom. Only on itself that has not cleared the table. And in other family this trick did not pass. Simply there was no cat. There live a parrot and the boxer. They have a good time another. The boxer has learned a parrot to bark. And now, when the bell at a door is belling, the dog runs to a cell with a parrot and with pleasure looks, how someone works instead of it. But the medal always has two sides. In the morning the parrot wakes up before all and barks until dog will not be leaded on a walk. But most further there was nowadays late cat Stefan. In his life there was one accident which has made a name of a cat well known. Was to him then fourteen years and he has lived all these years with Dobermans. Somehow in the evening he serenely dozed on a refrigerator. The bell at a door was distributed, dogs with bark have rushed to a door. The cat has jumped up and, not having woken up as follows, is very distinct and furious � start barking. He in thoughtfulness has stayed all stayed evening on a refrigerator. And the mistress all the evening long has lead at phone, telling all familiar about the cat of the linguist.
It seems to me, it is what is it very healthy, to lead cat-and-dog life. To us, people, is to that to learn at our pets. For example, to lerance to each other.

It is considered, it helps a dog to grow in a best way. It isn’t so. If your dog is not genetically predisposed to a good bearing, the support can’t help you. Let’s think together. The puppy grows twenty four hours per day. It eats four -five times per day for five -ten minutes. Whether twenty minutes are determining in its growth! Even fifty? It is walked much longer. But during a walk we allow him to sniff, consider, and investigate all on the ground. And it is necessary to incline a head for this purpose. We do not lift anything on a support for it. And its toys? Its toys, as a rule, lay in place easily accessible to it. That is on a floor. Also he plays with them on a floor. Let me to give you an advice. Do not waste time on a support. Better once again attentively study ancestors of your puppy. And if their bearing, their ex-terrier are of you arranges, safely take the puppy. Actually, nothing can be added to a dog what is not given to it by nature. It is possible only to help for a dog to develop its qualities. How to do it? I will share with you my experience with pleasure.
Now the two-year-old boxer lives in our house, its name Kira. It has never eat from a support. But we do not have any claims to its bearing. She is a dog with a good heredity. But it is not enough. She always knew that she is liked by owners. That she is proud of. It did not have necessity to press a head in shoulders, to stoop, in a fright low a head. Professional photomodels can envy its proud gait. When you are liked, you are the most beautiful on the world, you are the best! It is correct for dogs, as well as for people. Liked are always the most beautiful, the happiest and the most successful. And it is not important who it: dogs, cats, hamsters… By the way, after dogs in the house, as a rule, there come also other pets…
